Kid-Sized Royalty in Crafting

I've been trying to wait to post these until my children receive them this evening, but I just haven't got that sort of patience. The entire set was finished without the use of my sewing machine and some of the gifts were a LOOOOONG time in the making, so I just can't wait any longer to share!

My 2 and 4 year old like to play together and any gifts given need to be something that accommodates that.

Tonight's Chanukah theme is "Kid Sized Royalty"
(on a $1 budget, no seriously)

You may have already seen my tutorial on making a doorway play-scape castle

A Belle dress for a 4 year old princess made with this tutorial

A dashing cape for an almost 2 prince...

....who just so happens to be the champion of Chanuka.

About the gifts. All materials are re-purposed, none were purchased. Yes, the blue velvet and all the golden trim around the dress and the leopard print were in the scrap pile of a dressmaker in town. I happened by to see what she wanted to donate to a project about 6 months back and have been saving this material ever since. The yellow from the Belle dress were old sheets on their way out

So what costs $1 you ask? Just all the elastic needed for skirts, shirts and capes.

Those are so cute! I know my daughter would LOVE to get that set for Christmas!

  2. SarainAkko Says:

Thanks Lorie, I knew my 4yo would love it but I really thought that my 2yo would be uninterested. He puts it on every morning to eat breakfast & I have to wrestle it off of him to get him dressed.

It makes my day to hear from you so let me know what's on your mind. Chances are I'll probably even write you back. What can I say, I'm a people person.
